After a 3-Year Hiatus, it is my honor and pleasure to return to blogging! We obviously want to make a splash in this post so we are going to talk about one of my favorite all-time things, CHEESY NACHOS! Here we make the Ultimate Tin Can Nacho Recipe a reality! We wanted to bring in the best cheeses for this splash so we will be using Cache Valley® Creamery cheeses! Not only are they top quality but their taste lives on an exceptional level. These nachos are perfect for any activity!

Method
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Cook your meat of choice. If you’re using tri-tip steak, grill or sear it to medium-rare and slice thinly. For pulled pork or shredded chicken, cook until tender and shred.
- Dice the sweet onion and slice the green chiles thinly.
- Have all your ingredients ready to assemble the nachos.
- Layer the Nachos:
- Preheat your oven or smoker (I love using my Traeger) to 375°F.
- In a large oven-safe dish or a tin can (I use 5-quart), start with a layer of corn tortilla chips.
- Add a generous handful of shredded Cache Valley® Creamery Cheese on top.
- Layer on some black beans, your cooked meat, and drizzle a bit of brown sugar BBQ sauce.
- Add another layer of tortilla chips and repeat with the cheese, beans, meat, and BBQ sauce.
- Bake the Nachos:
- Place the dish or tin can in the oven or smoker and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
- Add Fresh Toppings:
- Remove the nachos from the oven and top with pico de gallo, guacamole (if using), sour cream, thinly sliced green chiles, diced sweet onions, and corn.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve the nachos directly from the dish or carefully remove the tin can to reveal the stacked nachos.
- Enjoy this melty, flavorful treat with friends and family!
Notes

The Ultimate Tin Can Nacho Recipe
This is one of the most fun, delicious, and easy recipes one can make! Any silly goose can get a bag of chips and shredded cheese and heat them up in the microwave. However, if you want a fun experience for yourself and your guests/family, take it to the next level in making these bad boys! Get a metal bucket can from a local hardware store and get the ingredients from the list above including the Mozzarella and Four Cheese Mexican cheese shreds from Cache Valley® Creamery! Honestly, they have a huge selection of cheeses you can pick from if these two flavors don’t tickle your fancy. Don’t be surprised if I switch up flavors this summer for some Havarti or Muenster cheeses.
Honestly, the beauty in this recipe is you can switch out whatever you want according to your taste and preferences. If you prefer more of a queso approach, be my guest. I have always been more of a fan of solid state cheeses that are melted on my nachos. Try out this recipe and let me know what you think in the comments below.
